Many neighborhoods in the Westside Atlanta have long struggled with issues such as low investment, displacement, and energy burden. To start tackling these issues in the Vine City neighborhood, Solar Decathlon at Georgia Tech partnered with local nonprofit Westside Future Fund to redesign a dilapidated lot into a net-zero, affordable house for a legacy resident family. The 3bed/2bath house balances sustainability, replicability, and affordability to create a design that can benefit the entire neighborhood.
